Odysseus

Overview

Odysseus spends 5% of his own HP on every Burst (factor 16,250, 18,000 awakened) and Burns the target with part of that HP. His Armor Piercer makes a troop he leads that is made only of Axe Throwers ignore up to 50% of the target's DEF, the largest DEF ignore found in the game. He gains damage and rage as his HP drops, and heals in short bursts when it falls.

When to use Odysseus

Damage marches against high-DEF targets, Blackforged and garrisons.

Troop: Pure Axe Thrower troops only. He must be the commander for Armor Piercer to work.

Odysseus skills at max level

1. Searing Flame Arrow Burst

   Burns 5% of his current HP to strike the target, then Burns it for 3 seconds for a share of the HP he burned.

   Damage factor 4,875 / 6,500 / 8,125 / 11,375 / 16,250; burn 3% / 4% / 5% / 7% / 10%

2. Scorching Resolve Passive, unlocks at 2 stars

   For each 10% of Max HP lost, damage and rage recovery rise for 5 seconds, stacking 3 times.

   Damage 1.1% / 1.4% / 1.8% / 2.5% / 3.5%; rage 3% / 4% / 5% / 7% / 10%

3. Armor Piercer Passive, unlocks at 3 stars

   When the troop he leads is made only of Axe Throwers, its attacks ignore part of the target's DEF.

   10% / 20% / 25% / 35% / 50%

4. Bloodflame Recovery Passive, unlocks at 4 stars

   For each 15% of Max HP lost, heals a share of Max HP every second for 3 seconds. Once every 8 seconds.

   1% / 1.2% / 1.5% / 2.1% / 3%

5. Crimson Arrow Storm Awakened

   Awakened Searing Flame Arrow: factor 18,000 and the Burn deals 20% of the HP burned.

Values are levels 1 to 5 from the in-game Upgrade Preview. Skills 2, 3 and 4 unlock at 2, 3 and 4 stars; maxing every skill awakens the hero and unlocks the awakened skill.

Best pairings for Odysseus

Lead with Odysseus and put Kalthas as lieutenant: Kalthas's DEF shred stacks with Armor Piercer. A fully starred Joan adds +35% Burst damage for a male commander and +30% troop ATK.

Build: Odysseus pure Axe Thrower burst

Highest single-target damage: Odysseus commands an all-Axe Thrower troop so Armor Piercer ignores 50% of the target's DEF.

Skill priority: Armor Piercer, then Searing Flame Arrow, then Scorching Resolve, then Bloodflame Recovery.

Strengths: Largest Burst factor (18,000 awakened) and the largest DEF ignore found. Kalthas cuts the remaining DEF; a 4-star Joan adds +35% to his Burst.

Weaknesses: Every Burst burns 5% of his own HP; Armor Piercer turns off with any non-Axe Thrower soldier or if he is not the commander.
