Common comparisons

These are the choices players ask about most: two heroes competing for the same march slot or the same star materials.

  • Odysseus vs Kalthas: Both lead Axe Thrower marches. Odysseus hits harder in an all-Axe troop; Kalthas's DEF cuts work in any troop.
  • Wukong vs Aska: The two best Cavalry heroes. They are better together than apart: Wukong commands, Aska is lieutenant.
  • Reid vs Karl: Both command Berserkers. Reid is tougher; Karl turns on Petra's Blood Resonance.
  • Joan vs Vista: Both boost the commander's Burst. Joan needs a male commander; Vista needs to be lieutenant.
  • Yi Sun-sin vs Iris: Garrison leads: Yi Sun-sin stacks damage reduction, Iris heals and dispels.
  • Selena vs Reinhardt: Blackforged hunters: both add bonus damage to Blackforged.
  • Sara vs Oda Nobunaga: Rally leads: Sara for mixed rallies, Oda for all-Cavalry rallies.

How to read the comparison

Tier and overall score come from the max-level pairing model: every hero at max level, stars, skills and talents, paired with their best partner. 100 is the strongest pair in the game. The score is the average of two numbers: PvP strength (damage dealt multiplied by how long the troop survives) and open-field damage.

Mode ratings run from 0 to 5 for open field, rallies, garrison, PvE and gathering. A hero can be C tier overall and still rate 5 in one mode, for example a gathering hero.

Troop type matters more than any number. Most heroes only give their main bonus to one troop type; Balanced heroes work with any. Two heroes of different troop types rarely compete for the same march.

Skills are shown at maximum level as read in game. Heroes marked Pending have not been fully read yet and are not scored.

For the full ranking use the tier list; to find the best partner for a hero use the pairing tables.
