Why Odysseus and Joan work together

The top pair in the max-level model (score 96). Joan's Saint's Resolve raises a male commander's Burst, and Odysseus's Searing Flame Arrow is one of the largest Bursts in the game. Armor Piercer needs Odysseus as commander with only Axe Throwers in the troop.

Odysseus spends 5% of his own HP on every Burst (factor 16,250, 18,000 awakened) and Burns the target with part of that HP. His Armor Piercer makes a troop he leads that is made only of Axe Throwers ignore up to 50% of the target's DEF, the largest DEF ignore found in the game. He gains damage and rage as his HP drops, and heals in short bursts when it falls.

Joan's Banner of Justice (factor up to 14,000) hits up to 3 enemies and buffs up to 3 friendly troops. Saint's Resolve (2 stars) raises a male hero's Burst damage by up to 35% when they share a troop, Fearless Charge (3 stars) stacks ATK when hit, and Leader's Presence (4 stars) gives her troop +30% ATK and +12% capacity.

Searing Flame Arrow (Burst): Burns 5% of his current HP to strike the target, then Burns it for 3 seconds for a share of the HP he burned.
Scorching Resolve (Passive): For each 10% of Max HP lost, damage and rage recovery rise for 5 seconds, stacking 3 times.
Armor Piercer (Passive): When the troop he leads is made only of Axe Throwers, its attacks ignore part of the target's DEF.

Joan

Banner of Justice (Burst): A banner hits up to 3 enemies in an area (15% less per extra target) and, for 3 seconds, raises damage and lowers damage taken for up to 3 nearby friendly troops by 1.5%.
Saint's Resolve (Passive): When Joan shares a troop with a male hero, his Burst damage increases. Unlocks at 2 stars.
Fearless Charge (Passive): When hit by a basic attack, 25% chance to raise ATK and basic-attack damage for 5 seconds, stacking 5 times. Unlocks at 3 stars.
