How to read the tiers
Two different labels: the gold, purple or blue letter on each portrait (S, A or B) is the hero's rarity, exactly as the game shows it. T0 to T4 is our meta tier from the max-level pairing model (T0 is best): each hero is scored as part of their best commander and lieutenant pair on damage and survivability. An S-rarity hero can sit in T3 if their skills are weak in open-field fights. Garrison and rally specialists such as Iris and Sara score lower here than their real value in those modes; see the garrison and rally guides.
